The Transformation Office supports Secretaries and Agency Heads across the Commonwealth with transformation and management tools and expertise, including setting clear objectives and defining key results, management reviews, planning and tracking transformation initiatives, project management, process improvement, and leadership skill-building training.

DMV Transformation

The Governor tasked the Chief Transformation Officer with leading a full-scale Transformation at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and focus on reducing citizen in-person wait times through a data-driven, hands-on approach.

VADOC Logo

Re-Entry Optimization

Launched a multi-agency transformation effort to sustainably improve prisoner re-entry success. This is focused on improving VADOC supervisees’ access to six success factors, including housing, medical, behavioral health and substance abuse treatment, employment, and appropriate supervision utilizing a first-of-its-kind dashboard.

Real Estate Optimization

Working with DGS to optimize real estate asset portfolio for efficiency, cost savings, and cost avoidance. The Transformation Office is working to identify capital savings to improve processes for growth and economic development while ensuring the Commonwealth's real estate assets meet operational requirements

VEC Transformation

The Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) Transformation has 3 objectives:  eliminating all unprocessed backlogs, helping the VEC move towards “best-in-class” performance, and creating and testing a resiliency plan to anticipate future challenges.

The Chief Transformation Officer and management of Virginia ABC have collaborated to identify ways to more effectively serve ABC's customers and fulfill ABC's mission while generating additional funding for the Commonwealth.

Transforming Behavioral Health

Governor Glenn Youngkin unveiled his three-year plan to transform Virginia’s behavioral health system, entitled “Right Help, Right Now.” This is a six-pillared approach to address our behavioral health challenges, encompassing crisis care, law enforcement burden, substance use disorder support, behavioral health workforce and service delivery innovation.

Building Blocks Transformation

Co-led a team, with the Secretary of Education, to develop the Building Blocks for Virginia’s Families early learning and childcare initiative announced on December 7, 2023.  The Transformation Office provided project leadership and funding assistance to conduct research, analysis, and options evaluation critical to this project.

Workforce Development Transformation

Partnered with the Secretary of Labor and third-party experts to develop detailed plans to successfully stand-up, transition, and operationalize the new Workforce Development Agency (VDWDA) over the next 15 months. Began a cadence of weekly updates and Program Management Office (PMO) meetings to ensure rapid progress.
